Check the route with packed dimensions.

The finished piece and its crate have different sizes and weights. Ask for the packing information, then review doors, lifts, stairs, parking and any lifting arrangements with the delivery team.

Keep a numbered packing record.

Request images of the protected parts, the crate and its markings, together with a packing list. Confirm which accessories, fittings and drawings travel with each piece.

Agree the arrival procedure.

Arrange a safe place for unloading and inspection. Photograph the crate and condition on arrival, record any concerns with the carrier and follow the agreed reporting process. Do not attempt to move heavy stone without the suitable team and equipment.

A useful record to request.

  • Project and piece reference, with date and drawing revision.
  • Named material, finish and approved layout.
  • Checks agreed with the responsible team and the evidence supplied.
  • Open points, approval status and the person confirming the next stage.
