Verde Alpi table on three stacked pedestals

Verde Alpi wave table

Design study 01. A long racetrack top on three stacked pedestals, exploring levelling and vein matching across a sculpted base.

Design referenceReference imagery illustrates the design direction. This page is not a verified AxoStone production or client-project record.
Background

The design question.

Sculpted stone bases are popular and hard to get right: each ring is cut from a different part of the slab, so the veining has to be planned across all of them, and three pedestals under one long top must share the load evenly.

This study identifies the drawings, support checks and material-layout decisions needed to assess the design. Feasibility and production details require review for a defined project.

Key difficulties

Three things that could go wrong.

01Three supports, one top

A top on three pedestals needs a defined support and levelling arrangement. Review height adjustment, load sharing and the checks required for the proposed geometry.

02Veins across fifteen rings

A numbered cutting layout can coordinate the ring sequence and vein direction. Confirm the arrangement against the actual selected slabs.

03A 3.2-metre top in transit

Review transport orientation, bracing, lifting points and access using the final dimensions and measured part weights.

From drawing to crate

From drawing to packing.

The sequence below is a design-review guide. Reference images explain the decisions and do not document the manufacture of this piece.

  1. Step 01

    Drawing

Top, three pedestals and ring layout on one sheet.

    Hand sketch
  2. Step 02

    Slab

Select and identify the actual slabs; review their faces, treatments and the proposed position of each ring.

  3. Step 03

    Cutting

Confirm the cutting sequence, ring geometry and suitable fabrication method with the workshop.

    Wet cutting
  4. Step 04

    Finishing

Specify the surface finish and review bonding, joints and the completed pedestal geometry.

    Polishing
  5. Step 05

    Trial fit

Define the trial-fit, levelling and movement checks before approving the support arrangement.

    Pedestal under top
  6. Step 06

    Packing

Agree part separation, crate design, measured weights and the delivery access plan.

Project review

Checks for this design.

The items below define evidence to agree for a proposed piece. They are not measured results or a test certificate for this reference design.

Review itemDesign questionEvidence for project approval
Level and supportHow will the three supports share load and be levelled?Approved support details, defined tolerance and recorded measurements.
MovementHow will stability be assessed for this geometry?A defined check method and documented outcome for the proposed piece.
Vein layoutHow will the ring sequence follow the selected slabs?Numbered cut layout and corresponding approval images.
Packing and accessHow will each part be supported, lifted and delivered?Measured part/crate weights and an agreed handling and access plan.
