Fabrication & delivery

Keep the piece reference connected from approved drawing to arrival check.

A clear place to start.

Finished stone island top being checked in a workshop

A useful process record connects material, drawing revision, piece numbers and agreed checks. It makes clear what has been approved and what still needs a decision.

Review the interfaces between stages. A change in slab can affect a cut layout; a change in assembly can affect packing; a crate can fit a vehicle while still failing to fit the final access route.

These guides focus on the information to request, the handover points and the people responsible. Use the record for the actual piece rather than treating another workshop photograph as evidence of a completed check.

Keep the decisions connected.

  • Identify the actual material or product.
  • Keep the dated drawing and source information together.
  • Show what is confirmed and what is still open.
  • Agree the responsible person for the next approval.
