Custom marble & travertine console tables

A considered arrival.

Before the drawing

Three decisions that shape the piece.

A useful brief connects the appearance to the way the piece is made and used.

Review the slab approval checklist

Hallway clearance
Measure the wall length, skirting, nearby doors and walking route. Include a front elevation when the console sits beneath a mirror, artwork or wall light.
Support and location
Review the stone top and base together. Discuss any required fixing or restraint with the project team, particularly for a narrow or tall form.
Pattern and edge
Choose whether the stone pattern continues from the top into the base. Draw the joint locations and edge profile so the finished piece can be assessed beyond its front view.

Choose the actual stone

Begin with a material direction.

A trade name or reference photograph is a starting point. Review the proposed stone, finish and cut layout, then record what is approved for your piece.

Common questions

Before you choose.

Can a console table be made shallower for a hallway?

A revised depth can be reviewed alongside the height, base footprint and support arrangement. Send the available space and the proposed use so the whole design can be considered.

Are marble consoles always made from one solid block?

No. Stone consoles may use slabs, assembled components or solid sections. Confirm the construction and expected weight in the quotation and drawing.

What makes a console different from a sideboard?

A console is generally a shallow display surface; a sideboard provides enclosed storage. If drawers or cabinets are important, include them in the initial design brief.

Can I coordinate a console with another stone piece?

Ask for the pieces to be reviewed together, including material, finish and edge details. The final visual relationship depends on the actual slabs and their cut layouts.
